Last year, I unfortunately went through the harrowing experience of an Ectopic pregnancy.
I lost my right fallopian tube because of it.
I noticed bleeding but mistook it for ovulation bleeding, it was only when I got heavier and in more pain that I decided to seek medical advice, to which my surprise – I was 7 weeks pregnant.
My operation was life saving as my fallopian tube had started to burst. We caught it just in time.
Before my operation my periods were always irregular but since my operation, they have been every month for the past year. However, my body has completely changed since my operation.
I get a little wipe of blood each month when I’m ovulating but it is never enough to fill a period pad and it’s only when I wipe and it only lasts a day.
This month however, I had my period two weeks ago and last night, I noticed again some ovulation bleeding which is normal. My question is this..
This time – the bleeding is ever so slightly heavier ( still not enough to fill a pad, but more there when I wipe) and it doesn’t seem to be going away – I’ve had it now for 2 days and it’s slightly worrying.
I know I’m not pregnant as my husband was deployed 3 weeks ago and won’t be home for 7 months so we haven’t had intercourse within the right time frame that would make sense to me thinking I was pregnant.
Am I just over thinking it? Is this blood absolutely normal and these things happen from one month to the next?
Hi Emma, depending on what is going on in our lives it can definitely change. Your husband deploying could have added some stress (undoubtedly and thank him for his service and you supporting him). Ovulation bleeding can last for a few days, that can be completely normal. Even from personal experience, it can last about three days. If it doesn’t stop though I would contact your doctor. But if you feel normal otherwise, no pain, no other side effects, you are most likely okay. I mean if you were irregular before I might just take a pregnancy test just to be sure. Good luck.

My periods are pretty spot on every month. Last couple of months consistently I have experienced light pink discharge (during ovulation time) which I hear is normal.
I have two questions:
1.Is it weird, that all of a sudden I get this ovulation spotting ?
2. I have noticed just after the ovulation spotting of light pink, a four days after I see (only a little bit) but reddish fresh blood… noticeable on a panty liner. Can this be classed as an extended ovulation spotting ?
Or is this a cause for concern? Thank you for your advice
Hi Sammy, it’s normal. Have you started new birth control or stopped a birth control? I’m dealing with the same thing just all of a sudden started with ovulation bleeding but I started new birth control a few months ago, almost 6 at this point. Keep track of it but if it bothers you talk to your doctor.

I had unprotected sex with my partner, he came in me but we immediately bought plan B and I took it… this happened the 7th day of my period and i still bled a little after that. 10 Days after the last day of my period I am spotting. It was light pink at first, then dark brown. now just regular blood when I wipe and pee a little. It isn’t enough to fill a pad. However I am worried something is wrong as this has never happened to me before. I have just moved cross country too btw. Is anything wrong? This isn’t implantation bleeding right? Also, this is going into the 3rd day of it. My period isn’t due till another 2 weeks.

As for bleeding, Plan B can affect your period more often than not because it affects the body to prevent you from getting pregnant. From experience, yes you most likely will get your period early, or have worse PMS symptoms. But it could also be ovulation bleeding, ebven though you may not normally experience it, having the Plan B in your system will make this cycle a bit different.

Just curious! My period normally last 7 days but on the fifth/sixth day it was gone. Had sex that night and the next day and week later a light pink strip and I am nausea and don’t feel good and swollen and tired.. could it be possible me being pregnant
Hi Mona, generally you wouldn’t have symptoms that soon after having sex. Implantation doesn’t happen until nearly two weeks later. But I would wait until after you are expecting your next period and see if you are pregnant.
Hello my name is Karina . I’ve always had regular periods . 32 at the most is my cycle days . And out of no where I get this type of bleeding . I use this app called clue and it’s usally correct with its predictions on where your ovulating and when your about to start your cycle . The last time I had intercourse was may 9th . Had regular period ever since . But this is the first time I’m experiencing This type of bleeding in the middle of the month . Like I said I been pretty regular with my period never missed .
Hi Karina, have you had any changes in your life, additional stress illness, medication etc? If so that could be the cause. However sometimes it just happens with ovulation bleeding.
No I’m on summer vacation so I haven’t done any changes to my self recently .
Hi again, then it could just be normal. Sometimes our bodies react differently every month and while some get ovulation bleeding every month, some only get it once in a while. I wouldn’t be concerned unless there were other symptoms such as severe pain and cramping that went along with it.
Can ovulation spotting occur one day, not the next and then occur again the following day. So every other day?

I just had this exact thing happen to me. I was worried that I was starting my period way early. I have had completely regular periods forever even when I was overweight, but just found out I have polycystic ovaries. Now I think I’m being paranoid! Hello not sure if this will get any reply but my periods have always been on time . I had a baby 1 year ago but for the last 4 months Iv been having irregular cycles like 38 days apart then 35 then 31 then 28 and also spitting at different times after my period . Like 5 days after and then 13 days after 15 days after etc….. Iv seen the doc and had unltrasound my endometrial lining was quite thick so referred me to Gynecology also Iv had smear 8 months ago all was normal . Then I also had blood test done I’m waiting on results from them need speak with a doctor I don’t have my gyn until 10july so will know what poa will happen then . The last 3 months I have been coming on my periods on time around the 11th of each month but then I’m still getting the spotting after my periods it’s very minimal but what could be causing this . I have very very bad health anxiety so you can imagine I’m going through the worst imagining everything.

Hello. I have been on birth control for over a year now and take it around the same time everyday. I have been feeling very nauseous since Thursday so 6 days ago for every morning between like 730-11 ish, and was unable to eat. Today is the first day I have not felt nauseous. However yesterday I started getting stomach cramps (mild) and light bleeding (brown). The bleeding has continued to today and is fairly light, mostly just when I use the bathroom but I am wearing a liner as there is a little on there also. I still have 11 more birth control pills to take. I may have missed one pill, but am not sure. I have also been very tired. Could I be getting an early period? Or could this be either ovulation or implantation bleeding. I have never had ovulation bleeding before.
Hello Beth, if you missed a pill, you might be pregnant. Take a pregnancy test 7 days after a missed period.
Lately over the past several months I’ve had spotting during my ovulation days, and when I wake up or during the day I immediately have to go to the bathroom and change. And unlike my period there haven’t been any cramps at all. It used to be very little blood. But now it’s to where I have to change my clothes because it soaked through everything. Hi M, could have been ovulation or breakthrough bleeding or your period, which maybe could be a little lighter.
Tell your ob/gyn. I found out I have low progesterone since I spot almost every cycle, but usually just before my period. It usually lasts 3-5 days ahead of my start date. You can get pills for it, use a progesterone cream, or try to manage it with vitamins and different foods in your diet. It’s worth it to investigate it so you can manage it.

Question (getting stressed)..I have been having unprotected sex with my partner the last few days but he always pulls out. 5 days after our first intercourse I noticed blood right after/during sex. the same night i saw some darker colored blood (very little) and had mild cramping.. I dont expect my period for at least the next 10-11 days. Any ideas what it could be due?
Hi Tanya, you could just be experiencing irritation in the vagina with you partner if you weren’t well lubricated. Other wise it’s most likely ovulation bleeding and the darker red blood was old blood.

3 days ago i experienced severe cramping in my back and pelvic area. Last night afer intercourse with my partner, it hurt so bad all i could do is ball up and cry. I went to the bathroom to clean myself up after the pain decreased..i woke up this morning and blood was all in my underwear and still bleeding now..like menstral bleeding but bright red instead. I have a flo app to where i can keep up with ovulation and menstration and for the last year its been dead on 100% accurate. Today was my fertile window so i shouldnt be menstrating because im due to mens on the 10th of june. Im no longer in any pain but i am bleeding pretty heavily like a menstral..can somebody please tell me what this is or if maybe im menstrating 2x in one month..i have fraternal twins who were concieved a week apart but my periods have always came on time every month so this is very new to me and im only 25 so surely premenopause is out the question..someone please tell me if they know any thing thank you!
