The abortion is a harsh procedure, not only because it is controversial, but also because the risks it involves on the health of a woman.
It is true that every woman is entitled to choose when to become a mother, but it is always best to be safe rather than going through such a procedure.
After an abortion, your body won’t just have to recover physically, since it is an invasive procedure, but hormonally as well, as a major process of pregnancy is stopped.
Pregnancy involves the release of various hormones and substances in the body of a woman to help her body adjust to the new task.
Because of all these, there is always a risk connected to an abortion. This is why there is only a limited number of abortions a woman can endure during her lifetime.
What is an abortion and when can it be done?
First of all, you should know that an abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. The more advanced the pregnancy is, the higher the risks.
If you do end up facing an unwanted pregnancy, you need to address it in a timely manner in case you decide you do not wish to be a mother just yet.
Never exceed the first trimester of pregnancy for this procedure, which means you must do it in the first three months of pregnancy if you want to stay on the safe side as much as possible.
The safe side means to still be able to have children when you finally decide it is time.
As mentioned before, the earlier you are in the pregnancy, the better it is to act toward getting an abortion if that is your decision.
In the early stages, the procedure is less painful, has lower risks, and it will cost you less. Of course, there are women you will opt for an abortion in the second trimester, which means the pregnancy is between four and six months.
However, the risks in this case are significantly higher, with the health and well-being of a woman being put in a greater danger.
Doctors will also not recommend terminating a pregnancy in the third trimester, meaning past six months of pregnancy, unless your life is being put in danger.
With all these things said, many states are concerned about the legalities associated with abortion. In some countries around the world, abortion remains illegal.
These include Egypt, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Malta, and many others. On the other hand, there are also countries where abortion is legal. One of them is the United States.
Generally, abortion has been legal across all states. But each state provides its own set of guidelines to follow for women who plan to undergo an abortion. For example, abortion is currently legal in Florida.
However, the state has imposed some restrictions to protect women’s lives. It means that Florida abortion is only allowed after the first trimester if the mother’s life is in danger or if the pregnancy results from incest or rape.
Also, before one can ask for an abortion, they’re required to take several steps, such as a 24-hour waiting period and mandatory counseling. Thankfully, there are many reliable resource websites online where they can obtain information about abortion and what to do to ensure a safe procedure.
How many abortions can be made without facing risks?

When it comes to an abortion, there is always a risk involved, even if it is just a slight one. But how many abortions can a woman have?
It is hard to give out a number because this depends on the organism of each woman, her medical history, health problems, and many variables.
There are women who have faced two or three abortions and still enjoyed a good health afterward. But there are also women who suffered from complications after their first abortion. [1]
So, we can say it is more a Russian roulette because no one can know how your body will take the procedure.
If you don’t want to let your health in the hands of destiny, it is best to keep the number of abortions at a minimum. It is highly recommended to use the various contraception methods available if you went through two abortions, as it is never good to push your luck and to subject yourself to further risks.
When you have decided that an abortion is the best solution in your case, you have two options.
You can opt to end your pregnancy surgically or through medication. However, the choice of how to do an abortion is not entirely yours all the time because it depends on how advanced your pregnancy is.
Abortion done through medication is usually done in the first nine weeks or less of the pregnancy. If you are past the nine weeks of pregnancy, surgical abortion will remain your only option.
What happens after an abortion?
If everything goes well during an abortion, the patient can go back to normal daily activities within a day or two. Still, it is recommended not to unroll any physical effort for a week after the procedure.
The doctor will also recommend the avoidance of any sexual intercourse for a period as well. Once the sexual intercourse is resumed, it is advisable to use a condom, to avoid vaginal infections, since the area will be sensitive for a while.
Most women would like to know if they will be able to have children after an abortion. If there aren’t any complications and a woman is in good health, she can have children later on in life, when she decides.
But all women should be highly aware that it is possible to become pregnant again in days after getting the abortion. This is why a safety method is necessary.
If you went through an abortion, or wish to avoid one, there are plenty contraception methods to choose from, as they are safer for your health.
Conclusion
Indeed, abortion remains a controversial topic in society these days. Although many states have legalized other abortion procedures along with some restrictions, many women are still concerned about the effects of abortion on their overall health.
Because of this, it’s best to familiarize yourself with all the information about abortion, including the number of procedures you can have before you’re at risk.
Fortunately, by keeping the information mentioned above, you’ll equip yourself with the knowledge to help you make a good decision about your pregnancy and health.

Mine is more like pouring my heart out. I had a surgical abortion in 2013. I swore never to have that again. Fast forward to December 2017, someone I had been dating for a year took me on a deceitful ride. I was ready to have the baby but he had someone else. I had to do it with pills this time. All went well and I swore never ever. I met someone else this year infact I met him while I was having final stains from the abortion. We hit it off and two months later I am here regrettably, I have to terminate again. My period is in 5 days time but I know my body so well. We had sex on my ovulation day and didn’t buy the morning after pill till after 5 days who does that? Though we had been traveling. I’m at an age where I should have kids but the circumstances are not right. I’m just so sad. He is standing by me though. I just hope God forgives me and doesn’t deny me of this wonderful blessing when it is really time. I’ll wait the five days out and do what I need to do. Pills too. I can’t help but also wish my body is playing tricks on me but the discharges. I’m not happy at all.

Hi,
I am in such a pickle. I have had 2 abortions, and now considering my third. My first was when I was 18, and just going into university I aborted it based on this. Second was when I was 20-21, I fell pregnant and I was finishing university and fell pregnant due to failed contraceptive. Now I am almost 24 and I am pregnant again. All the times I have been pregnant for the same man and it has always been the tablet/pill. I am engaged to him and we’re due to marry next year May. I cannot possible fathom having a child before marriage and even telling my parents! My father will disown me! Will this affect my fertility? I think we will be ready for children when I turn 26….in almost 2 years time.

Hi i just got an abortion april 12 and that was my third abortion first two was the suction n this past one was the pill. And i have been bleeding since then and have light orders. What can be the cause of that also i just took an at home pregnancy test and i am pregnant. Will i have a healthy pregnancy?
Hi Darla, First it could be that you still have the pregnancy hormones in your body. I would recommend getting checked out, especially considering you are still bleeding as well more than 4 weeks after taking the pill. While yes you can be pregnant, I would make an appointment. Good luck.
Please I had an abortion one month ago, but am yet to see my period and am not pregnant cause I just did a pregnancy test. What could be the reason because I’ve been having period cramps for one week now without any period.
Hi Anne, it could take up to 8 weeks to get your period back again. So you might just not have made it yet to where you get your period.
hi,if someone had up to five abortions…..2 by pills and 3 by d and c…..and now she is pregnant and ready to keep the baby….pls what is the assurance or is it possible she wont suffer too much loss of blood after delivery because of her uterus expansion
Hello Ola, she can have a successful pregnancy and delivery given that none of the abortion procedures has effected her in a way to prevent her from healthily carrying.

Hi Neyomi, is it safe, yes. But if you want to live a more carefree life I would recommend a regular form of birth control.
Hi. I’m really scared I had two abortions . The ist one was October 2017, second was February 4 2018 and I’m currently pregnant . I did medical abortion for all at most 6weeks pregnant .

Hi I am 29years and had my first medical abortion in Feb 2017 and the second one in June 2017 but had some pregnancy tissue left behind which was then cleared with use of two doses of misoprostol 2 weeks apart.
I am 2 weeks pregnant again And I am not ready for pregnancy. We used contraceptive and I pill tabs all the 3 times but yet pregnant. One of the Dr told me 3rd abortion can weaken the uterus and affect fertility. Can I opt for medical abortion now.
Hi Keerthi, it’s best to go the medical abortion route before 8 weeks as it’s more effective so yes you can.
hi I’ve heard 3 abortions in two years. the last one was four months ago and im four weeks pregnant again. im scared of future problems and complications after d and c
Hi Franca, while having an abortion won’t cause fertility issues you have to worry abaout potential scar tissue in the service which can occur and cause issues during pregnancy, but that’s not common at this point.
