Most women are not aware of this, but it is actually possible to know about your health from your menstrual cycle. If you are tracking your cycles, you can understand ovulation times, what is normal for you and identify major changes such as unpredictable bleeding or missed periods. For the purpose of this article, we will look at the differences between long and short menstrual cycle. First and foremost, you should know that every woman’s cycle is unique so it is difficult to say what is normal. For instance, a normal menstrual cycle can be as long as forty days

Hi my have 30-35 days cycle but my menses changes now to 41days. my bleeding last for 5 days.
Hi Esi, since we don’t know how old you are it could be perimenopause, or if you’ve had medication, weight, stress changes that could be the cause as well.
OK am really confused right now, i need help am this kind of person that my period don’t have a particular date so how do i call this long or short? This it my come out 15 then next month 10 or 12, please i need help thank you
Hi Mercy, periods don’t generally have a “date” as you say, they usually follow a cycle. If you have a 28 day cycle, it’s not going to be on the same day every month. What I recommend is putting in your second to last period date, and then look at the next date and determine how long your cycle is. You should count from the first day of your period to the first day of your next period. That can help determine your cycle length instead of trying to look for a specific date. You can check out the calculator here
I have 28 days cycle but since December, 2017, its been different. It was DEC 13 , then 26th, then Feb 3rd, Feb 23rd, March 14th and now April 3rd. What could be the reason for sudden change?
Hi Ruth, have you always been regular? I would recommend taking a look at if you have had any changes in your life such as weight loss/gain, new medications, stopping medications, changes in stress levels, or workout levels. If not than it seems that your ovulation could be a little irregular. Keep tracking and if you don’t see it normalize and you haven’t had any other life changes, make an appointment to discuss it with your doctor.
hi I have a regular period of 25 days but last month it came at 37days will it still affect my ovulation date?
Hi Favour, generally that means you ovulated later that normal. Did you have any changes recently such as weight loss or gain, medications, etc? Those could cause changes in your period.
6months ago my cycle length changed from 28days( had this for 7years) to 34 days. I am 36years with 1 child. What could be happening.
Hello Olivia, read the below link on why your cycle might have changed:

Hi , I always have regular 26-27 days regular cycle every month ,but in February have 20 days cycle , I am much worried please help
Hi there Shilpi, different factors might affect your cycle including: stress, exercise, change of climate, traveling.
Q. My last menstrual cycle was 27 that is January and now my February cycle is 25 days is that normal?
latti
Hi Latti, Yes that is normal, that would put you at a 29 day cycle roughly which is perfectly normal. Most calculators base the average cycle at 28 days although it can vary.
Hello, my cycle use to be a normal regular 28 day cycle. But, every since I had a Miscarriage in Sept 2017 at 18w3d and had a D&E done also in Sept my cycle has been so irregular and off track! I’ve been spotting every day on and off since that. Now I think my cycle has dropped to 23-25 days. I just recently started taking Vitex and Maca to kind of help regulate my cycle. Only been taking for a little over 2 wks and this is my first cycle since taking this pills and I’ve noticed less cramping.
Hi..my periods starts from the 2nd of February….and it still continues… Not heavy bleeding but minute bleeding…I can’t understand what should I do…my period comes irregularly sometimes…I consulted the doctor….I’m over weight but I don’t understand what’s the exact problem….it’s the first time for a longer period.
Hi Shruti,
Being overweight can affect the length of your period making it longer than usual. Or if there were changes in medications or stressors in your life recently. These can affect your period more than most think. Additionally, it could be an issue with hormones that are out of whack. If you are concered I would get a second opinion and have them test your hormone levels as well.
Hi, I have never really had a regular cycle my menstrual usually lasts 3-7 days. My most recent period started on January 26 2018 and its been about 13 days and I am still bleeding, it stopped for a few hours after bleeding for about 9 days, I thought I was safe so my husband and I had sex and right after i started spotting ( it wasn’t rough sex sorry if TMI) but the spotting isn’t light enough for just a pantyliner but I’m also not going through more than a pad a day, the blood was also bright red, like fresh blood. Today makes day 14 and I’m just now seeing like brownish blood…I don’t think its normal but I also don’t know what to do.
Hello Jay, this should not be happening. Read the following link: https://womanjunction.com/bleeding-sex-heres-need-know/
Hi I have a 27 day cycle and my bleeding normally last 3-4 days. However, my december 2017 and January 2018 periods only lasted 2 days. I have quit smoking 37 days ago could this have cause the change im my bleeding days?
Hi Nas. As smoking does affect hormones in the body it can certainly have a affect on your period. I would give your body a few months or so to regulate without smoking. And congratulations on not smoking, that’s an awesome accomplishment.
