Implantation is a critical step in the process of conception that isn’t always spoken of or understood. While it’s absolutely vital to get right, many hopeful parents aren’t educated on the subject and so they’re missing out on the key to getting pregnant.
While the intricate details of implantation aren’t fully known, we have developed a calculator to help pinpoint the most likely days to achieve implantation during your menstrual cycle -> CLICK HERE to go straight to the calculator.

What is Implantation?
Implantation is the end product after the sperm comes into contact with the egg and fertilizes it. This is called a zygote. It then travels to the uterus where it attaches itself into the uterine lining [1].
This is the process, and without implantation, pregnancy is not possible and the body will naturally eliminate it during your next cycle.

Possible Signs of Implantation
After implantation occurs, it’s normal to see some light bleeding or spotting. This is actually from the embryo attaching to the uterine wall and is nothing to be concerned with. It’s actually a good sign! However, this is not a necessity.
Not all women experience implantation bleeding or cramping. This can happen roughly 10 to 14 days after conception, and implantation bleeding is generally significantly lighter than a regular period [2].
Some might also start to notice the very first signs of pregnancy at this point such as breast soreness and fatigue [3]. Additional symptoms that you might notice other than the obvious of a missed period, could be moodiness, aversions to certain foods, bloating, and nasal congestion and even constipation [1].
As you notice, some of these are very similar to those of PMS so noticing them might not even happen until you get a positive and can link the two.
The hormone levels increase right away and this is your body changing to start to accommodate a new life and help it grow.
Implantation Timing
The timeframe for implantation is anywhere from seven to twelve days after ovulation, however generally occurs right around day nine [5].
Once this process has occurred some of the most sensitive pregnancy tests can determine pregnancy, but sometimes it takes another day or so. Which is why it’s recommended to wait until a missed period to take a pregnancy test [1].
After implantation has occurred, the body starts to produce the pregnancy hormone, Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) [4]. For pregnancies that last more than six weeks, the first appearance of hCG occurred 6 to 12 days after ovulation; 118 women (84 percent) had implantation on day 8, 9, or 10 [5].
Calculating the days of your cycle, ovulation, and the most likely days for the embryo to implant can be confusing. If you are having trouble conceiving, using an ovulation or implantation calculator to get the best estimate for your most fertile period can be helpful in getting pregnant.
It can also put your mind at ease to calculate your implantation dates so if you see light bleeding, you’ll know if it’s possibly related to the embryo implanting rather than your next period or a miscarriage.
But, just be aware that many times implantation bleeding happens around the time of your next period.
How To Use The Implantation Calculator
The calculator is simple to use and just like the most of the other calculators available to you, the only information you need to know is the day you started your last period and the typical length of your cycle.
Once you plug in those numbers, the calculator will give you several dates that are important for you to know when trying to conceive:
Estimated Fertile Period – This is the range of dates that you’re most likely to be fertile or in other words when an egg is most likely to be released from the Fallopian tubes.
Implantation – This is the range of dates that, if an embryo was formed and it united with sperm and was fertilized, it would likely make it to the uterus to implant itself in the wall.
Most Likely Date Range – Most implantation occurs on days 8 to 10, so this is the range of the most likely days for implantation according to when 84% of women experience it.
Once the calculator is finished, you’ll have your date ranges as well as a chart that shows you the days past ovulation (DPO) with the highest probability of implantation.
This information is helpful to look at so you can pinpoint the possible cause of any cramping or bleeding you may experience that could be related to implantation of an embryo.
To Conclude
It’s important to note that the calculator only provides an estimation of your ovulation and implantation dates according to the information provided. This means that if you aren’t accurate with your LMP you might not get an accurate result.
It can also be skewed if you have an irregular period in which the length of your cycle isn’t the same every month or varies significantly.
If that is the case, then the recommendation would be to speak with your doctor about the possibility of helping to regulate your cycle.
In addition, if you’ve been trying to conceive for longer than six months with no success, it may be a good idea to talk to a doctor and work together to form a plan for conception. This, in conjunction with the calculator, could help you determine what your symptoms are actually due to.

My cycle is 30 days. I got my period on june 16 and had unprotected sex on July 7. My menstruation calculator predicted that my next period is on July 18 but until now I still haven’t got my period. I don’t have an implantation bleeding, am I be pregnant?
Hi Rhea!
Based on the data you have provided, your most fertile period is estimated to be from June 29 – Jul 09. If you had unprotected sex on July 7, it is a possibility that you are indeed pregnant. However, there are still other factors that could cause the delay of your menstruation. It is best to take a pregnancy test to confirm.
Hey, I had my period on March 10, it lasted 6 days and then had sex on March 27 but also took an e-pill on the same day. My period estimated date was March 7 but I have no signs. Could I be pregnant?
Hello Makena, that is probably not the case. It might be late due to a lot of different reasons, including stress,
Hi

I had my last period on the 30th August and now I’m seeing another period on the 19th of September, could that be implantation bleeding?
Hello Princess, implantation bleeding is generally light and short, just a few days’ worth. It usually occurs 10-14 days after conception, or around the time of your missed period. If it seems like regular bleeding it could be early menstruation caused by stress or hormonal imbalance.
Don’t want to be disappointed
I had my period on the 31st July but as of last night 27th August I noticed light bleeding when I wiped myself could I be pregnant or is it a period? I’m curious as my periods have been irregular since having my children. But my husband to be and I have been trying to get pregnant for 6 months now and haven’t had any luck. I hope to get some sort of answers . Thank you
Hi Laice, if the spotting is less than normal and doesn’t turn into what you consider is a normal period, then you might be pregnant and I would recommend taking a pregnancy test. However, if you are not pregnant I would recommend that you see your doctor and they can help determine the reasoning behind why you are having issues getting pregnant. Good luck!
I have 36days cycle starting from 18june to july23 and I had sex on August 7,8,9,10,11 and I felt pains on my abdominal, dizziness and movement on my tummy, on 26 August I started seeing my period. Is it not my fertile day on d day I had sex.
Hi, your fertile period would have been from the 5th to the 9th of August based on those dates. However if your period came the 26th then you might have been fertile from the 8th through the 12th. Both during what our calculations would be your fertile period. If your period is irregular though you might not know when you ovulate unless you take an ovulation test or monitor your body.
Hello!
I had my period on June 30. I had protected sex with condom on June 21. I’ve been quite paranoid about this for a while since I have no idea about what the exact date of my ovulation is. I do think I had my period on July 31 (as I thought it would arrive) and it was the usual kind (heavy non stop kind) so far although on the third day (today) it got quite weak. I don’t have any other signs of being pregnant but I just want to make sure. Thank you!
Condences info:
Last period started: June 30
Ovulation: Not sure
Protected sex: June 21
Most likely Period: June 31
Hi Jeanny, if you had protected sex and your method didn’t fail then it doesn’t sound like you would be pregnant. If you are paranoid about it, take a pregnancy test (the ones at the Dollar Store are just as good as the expensive ones and can help ease your mind).
Hello. Regular 28day cycle. i got my period June 29- july 3rd. i had unprotected sex everyday up until july 18… i took a HPT july 22nd which is 8po it was positive very faint line? my boobs don’t hurt at all.. but they do hurt really bad for a week before my period then it stops the day before my period comes.. i’ve been like this since i can remember so somethings up…been having some mild cramping on n off. then july 24 i was having brown discharge and it turned into light bleeding.. NO CRAMPS at all which is weird because usually my menstrual cramps are unbearable… my period isn’t due until the 27th.. what does this mean?
Hi there, if you took a pregnancy test and read it within the allotted time and received two lines, then you most likely are pregnant. I would recommend taking another test and if it’s still positive than congratulations and you should make an appointment with your doctor.
i had my june period my ovulation days were june 12 to the 16th i believe didnt get my july cycle spotted for a few days pregnancy test negative im confused HELLLPP
Hi Shika, your post is a bit confusing. Do you mean you had your period from June 12th to the 16th? If you had your period then you should have seen your period on the 10th of July or close to it. If that is when you ovulated, you would have seen your period roughly June 30th. There are a few reasons why you could be late, stress, weight changes, medications, travel, illness, etc. These are things that can affect our bodies negatively. I would wait another 5 days and test again. If it’s negative then maybe contact your doctor if you are concerned.
Hi there. I had my periods on 1st June had sex with my husband on 17 and 20 my ovulation was on 17th. On the 24 -26 I see some blood when I wipe my self after urinating with tissue for 3 days. On the 27th I had blood flow like periods for 1 day and half in which i was expecting my periods on 1st July is it implantation bleeding or periods?
Hi Essie, the only way to know if it was implantation bleeding and you are pregnant is to take a test. The 24th to the 26th could have been ovulation bleeding and then your period might be later. It could have been that you ovulated later than you think as well. Take a test would be my first recommendation.
Hi my period was 10 may, then on day 21 I noticed some spotting a few ones and stop. Then day 6 I had brown discharge. Day 7 up to date 14i had light breeding
Hi Purity, spotting can be normal depending on if there are other things going on, change in anything in your life especially birth control. If it continues like this into your next cycle, contact your doctor. Otherwise it could be normal.
Hi. My period was on 22 March. Then I had brown spotting on 14 April just for few hours or 15 April just for 1 time & then again I had brown spotting on 17 April. Are these pregnancy signs??
Hi Tanisa, it depends on if you had unprotected sex during your fertile period. If you did then yes it could have been implantation bleeding. However, this response is a bit late so you should have either gotten a period or taken a pregnancy test. If you haven’t and haven’t gotten your period at this time, then take one.
Hi… my period was on march 8th to march 18. Then I had brown spotting on march 29 and it Just for few hours only. I had breast pain on and off. Is that pregnancy signs
Hello Eswary, this could be a sign of many things. Take a pregnancy test if you think you might be pregnant.

Hi there Valencia! You just might be. I hope you are too. Take a pregnancy test 7 days after a missed period to determine this.
Regular 28 day cycles with June 1 being 1st day of cycle, on June 27th had light period (?) for less than 3 days (normal is 4/7 days). Today (July 14th) cycle day 18 and have spotting, tender/full breast?
Hello Hopeful, take a pregnancy to see if you might be pregnant.
