The abortion is a harsh procedure, not only because it is controversial, but also because the risks it involves on the health of a woman.
It is true that every woman is entitled to choose when to become a mother, but it is always best to be safe rather than going through such a procedure.
After an abortion, your body won’t just have to recover physically, since it is an invasive procedure, but hormonally as well, as a major process of pregnancy is stopped.
Pregnancy involves the release of various hormones and substances in the body of a woman to help her body adjust to the new task.
Because of all these, there is always a risk connected to an abortion. This is why there is only a limited number of abortions a woman can endure during her lifetime.
What is an abortion and when can it be done?
First of all, you should know that an abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. The more advanced the pregnancy is, the higher the risks.
If you do end up facing an unwanted pregnancy, you need to address it in a timely manner in case you decide you do not wish to be a mother just yet.
Never exceed the first trimester of pregnancy for this procedure, which means you must do it in the first three months of pregnancy if you want to stay on the safe side as much as possible.
The safe side means to still be able to have children when you finally decide it is time.
As mentioned before, the earlier you are in the pregnancy, the better it is to act toward getting an abortion if that is your decision.
In the early stages, the procedure is less painful, has lower risks, and it will cost you less. Of course, there are women you will opt for an abortion in the second trimester, which means the pregnancy is between four and six months.
However, the risks in this case are significantly higher, with the health and well-being of a woman being put in a greater danger.
Doctors will also not recommend terminating a pregnancy in the third trimester, meaning past six months of pregnancy, unless your life is being put in danger.
With all these things said, many states are concerned about the legalities associated with abortion. In some countries around the world, abortion remains illegal.
These include Egypt, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Malta, and many others. On the other hand, there are also countries where abortion is legal. One of them is the United States.
Generally, abortion has been legal across all states. But each state provides its own set of guidelines to follow for women who plan to undergo an abortion. For example, abortion is currently legal in Florida.
However, the state has imposed some restrictions to protect women’s lives. It means that Florida abortion is only allowed after the first trimester if the mother’s life is in danger or if the pregnancy results from incest or rape.
Also, before one can ask for an abortion, they’re required to take several steps, such as a 24-hour waiting period and mandatory counseling. Thankfully, there are many reliable resource websites online where they can obtain information about abortion and what to do to ensure a safe procedure.
How many abortions can be made without facing risks?

When it comes to an abortion, there is always a risk involved, even if it is just a slight one. But how many abortions can a woman have?
It is hard to give out a number because this depends on the organism of each woman, her medical history, health problems, and many variables.
There are women who have faced two or three abortions and still enjoyed a good health afterward. But there are also women who suffered from complications after their first abortion. [1]
So, we can say it is more a Russian roulette because no one can know how your body will take the procedure.
If you don’t want to let your health in the hands of destiny, it is best to keep the number of abortions at a minimum. It is highly recommended to use the various contraception methods available if you went through two abortions, as it is never good to push your luck and to subject yourself to further risks.
When you have decided that an abortion is the best solution in your case, you have two options.
You can opt to end your pregnancy surgically or through medication. However, the choice of how to do an abortion is not entirely yours all the time because it depends on how advanced your pregnancy is.
Abortion done through medication is usually done in the first nine weeks or less of the pregnancy. If you are past the nine weeks of pregnancy, surgical abortion will remain your only option.
What happens after an abortion?
If everything goes well during an abortion, the patient can go back to normal daily activities within a day or two. Still, it is recommended not to unroll any physical effort for a week after the procedure.
The doctor will also recommend the avoidance of any sexual intercourse for a period as well. Once the sexual intercourse is resumed, it is advisable to use a condom, to avoid vaginal infections, since the area will be sensitive for a while.
Most women would like to know if they will be able to have children after an abortion. If there aren’t any complications and a woman is in good health, she can have children later on in life, when she decides.
But all women should be highly aware that it is possible to become pregnant again in days after getting the abortion. This is why a safety method is necessary.
If you went through an abortion, or wish to avoid one, there are plenty contraception methods to choose from, as they are safer for your health.
Conclusion
Indeed, abortion remains a controversial topic in society these days. Although many states have legalized other abortion procedures along with some restrictions, many women are still concerned about the effects of abortion on their overall health.
Because of this, it’s best to familiarize yourself with all the information about abortion, including the number of procedures you can have before you’re at risk.
Fortunately, by keeping the information mentioned above, you’ll equip yourself with the knowledge to help you make a good decision about your pregnancy and health.

Hi Rosette, you might not have ovulated yet or your abortion wasn’t successful. At this point you should have had either your period or a taken another pregnancy test, especially if there is the possibility that you could have gotten pregnant again.
I’ve had 5 abortions… and I’m pregnant again now I’m not just ready again… and I wanna abort this one… I’m confused and I’m scared😢😢

Hi
I have had 4 abortions and l am 28years old single lady.
The first was my last year in university…was done with misoprostol. I graduated and met a guy, got too attached and we have been together for 2years and 7months now , and l have had another 3abortions within those years. All done by pills in the first trimester (a month or a month plus 2weeks) because of this l felt bad and broke up with him but l was lonly without a friend so I went back again after a year. I am pregnant again for the 5th time and he is decided and acting cowardly about it.
How safe is it to have this 5th one since l am only 2days late having my period. I want to have this and been done with this guy for good. I bought condoms but he wouldn’t use them as he prefers withdrawal.
Please help me . I need a feed back soonest.

Hello, I had a medical Abortion and after a month I am realizing I am pregnant again… am I safe for another abortion since am only a month after my first abortion. I am scared.
Hi Joy, is it safe, yes. But if you aren’t trying to get pregnant again at this time you should ideally use a reliable method of birth control, either for yourself or for your partner.
I always wondered if I can become pregnant again?? I had 3 pill terminations when I was younger from 2014-2015, had a surgical termination in 2015, last I had another final pill termination. That’s a total of 5 abortions in my life time, four pill terminations and one surgical that I don’t like to tslk about. I wasn’t ready, I have two children of my own already. I was scared to have more kids at the time. Not the right partners.I Want to become pregnant, I want a baby. I’m scared but idk if I’m gonna b able to have one. I haven’t tried because it’s scarring me that I’m not gonna b able to have one last child. I’m in my late 20’s and i think I’m ready now, I’m just really afraid, I want a family with my partner. I want a child, any opinions and facts would help
Hi there Rose, the only way to know if you are able to conceive and successfully carry this time around is to try. All the best.
I had 3 abortions after that birth control pill for a year will I still conceive?
Hello Issy, read below:

hi, I had a surgery abortion September 2017 I was glad because it was successful which I avoid sex for 7 month only to visit my ex on 2nd June and it resulted to pregnant. 6week pregnant and I want go for another surgery abortion because the abortion pill I took when it was 3week never worked. no bleeding, no signs of any kind.
Hi! You can have another surgical abortion. Abortions don’t affect your fertility. If that is what you feel is right, then go that path. I know someone who had 14 abortions and then had a successful pregnancy.
14 ? Is this true. Because I’ve had 3 abortions and I’m also a mother of 1 . I’m currently pregnant and I’m hesitant because I’m terrified for my health but I can’t afford to have another right now. I’m freaking out.

I had second abortion in 2012, which all the two abortion was surgical abortion and now am 6weeks pregnant but I want to abort it by using medical abortion or surgical abortion again ,plz is it advisable for me or what are the risk?
Hi Nana, abortions don’t reduce your ability to get pregnant. While surgical abortions can leave scar tissue that can affect future pregnancies, generally there isn’t really a risk. If you want to have another one, then do what works for you. It’s your body and you have the ability to make the best decision for you and your family.
I had two abortions and now am pregnant again should i abort it.. Am not ready yet
Hi, This is a completely personal decision. If you are not ready then do what you have to do. What I would recommend though if you are not trying to start a family yet is to find a reliable method of birth control be it condoms, the pill, whatever the case may be and whatever works for you.
I did an abortion 2017 December an have tired with my partner to get pregnant now its 6months
Hi Doreen, if it’s been six months since you have started trying again, I would consult your doctor.
Good morning last year of may I got pregnant an I did an abortion, it went well I got back my period.
I was to see my period yesterday I did not I was worried so I took a pregnancy test this morning an it’s positive. I don’t know what to do, I am thinking about an abortion again but am afraid later in life I can’t have any kids. Because I know it happens to other woman an they wish they had never done it.. Am so scared. This pregnancy happened by mistake.
Hello Angilee, it’s great to invest in the use of some form of birth control. See link below re having multiple abortions:
https://womanjunction.com/how-many-abortions-can-you-have-before-you-are-at-risk/
I had a medical abortion in December of 2017 after words periods were a little irregular until March 2018. Now in June 6 months later I’m still having trouble conceiving could the abortion made me infertil?
Hi Abiagail, unless there was an issue with the abortion, generally it will not make you infertile. However it could be from scar tissue which can prevent proper implantation. If you are having trouble and you are tracking your periods and still aren’t getting pregnant when having your period during your fertile period, then I would talk to your doctor.
Hi,
I had unprotected sex with my partner 3 days before my last period, well thought i was in trouble till it came when it was supposed to and i thought i had survived. well, fast forward my period should have come yesterday however nothing yet i am having all the symptoms leading to my period. Could i be pregnant. its stressing me out.
Hi Anjella, if you had your period you weren’t pregnant. If you have had unprotected sex since your last period you could be pregnant. Well it’s a few days later though have you gotten your period since then?
i had abortion at jan 2018. i had normal periods on feb and march. but i skipped my periods and then i got at april month. but before getting periods on april month , a week before i had protected intercourse with condomn, after the intercourse a week later i get my periods in april. but now i skipped periods for two weeks . will i be normal or pregnant?.
in short i get periods last month after one week after protected intercourse but i got skipped by two weeks .what is this refer to?
Hello Arch, the most accurate time to take a pregnancy test is 7 days after a missed period.
